Following the success of Paiyaa, Linguswamy announced the project of Vettai. Initially, the film was to be produced by Cloud Nine Movies. Due to several changes in the cast and crew, Cloud Nine Movies stepped out of the project and Thirupathi Brothers took over the project. This film has 2 successful combinations; Madhavan – Linguswamy and Yuvan Shankar Raja – Linguswamy after this blockbusters RUN and PAIYAA respectively. The story is around two brothers in Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu. Madhavan has played a Police Inspector Role for the first time in his Tamil Film Career. Vettai is a commercial movie with all peppy songs and popular start casts.

The sound track was released on 16th December ’11. The movie to be released on 13th January ‘2012.
