RAAVANAN is yet another Mile Stone of the legendary director Maniratnam. The director and A.R. Rahman together make a Magic in their 11th Film.

The film is full of action, Love, Romance and performances. Each and every artist (from the Lead Roles to Character Roles) makes their impressive performances throughout the film. This movie would have given unforgettable experiences in their Career.

Film is led by Vikram (Veera) and Aishwarya Rai Bachan (Ragini), heavily supported by Prithivi Raj (Dev), Priya Mani (Vennila), Prabhu and Karthik. Vikram looks huge and has given a flawless act. Aishwarys Rai looks beautiful as always and she has also given a remarkable performance in the movie. Aish’s lip synch towards the language and her stunts proves her dedication towards her role. Actor Rohini’s voice of emotions and loud shouts was realistic to Aish’s dialogue deliveries.

Vikram and Aish have expressed more on their eyes. Movie also has remarkable performances from Prabhu, Karthik and Priya mani.

The Film is shot entirely in the interiors of India which indeed a visual treat for the audience. The Cinematographer’s work plays a vital role in the film which was extraordinarily made by Santhosh Sivan and Manikandan. The entire crew of Raavanan might have extremely worked hard for the visuals as it was totally shot in hard rocks, waters, slopes and hills. Screenplay is made brilliant by the director which includes his own flashback transition formula.

Songs and Back ground scores by A.R. Rahman is completely satisfactory. All songs have Fantastic Lyrics by Vairamuthu. The lead of the song “ Usurae Poguthae “ and its situation is great and takes our mind to it.

The Movie starts with a location transfer of an encounter specialist, Dev S.P. Dev and his wife Ragini reaches Veera’s place to control Veera and his group who were against the Police Men. Ragini was trapped by Veera to his village to retain her for few days as revenge to Dev. Ragini was arrogant enough towards Veera which made her jump from a waterfall. Veera was shocked by the incident and he was impressed by her brave decision.

With the help of forest officers’ Dev steps into the forest in search of Ragini and Veera. Ragini finds one of the police men harmed by Veera and she questions about their anger on the police men, and then starts the flash back.

Story moves around a happy sister of Veera, Vennila who is getting ready for her wedding. Dev comes to Veera’s place on her wedding and shot on Veera’s throat. The police men took Vennila to the police station and she was seriously harmed by them. Vennila met his brother Veera to narrate the situation in the police station and then commits suicide.

Ragini refuses to this as she can’t believe that her husband is also a reason for the disaster in Veera’s life. Ragini then started believing Veera and she was waiting calmly for Dev’s arrival. Veera asks Ragini to stay with them as he fell in love on her. Younger brother of Veera refuses to have Ragini anymore in their place as he sensed nothing normal since her arrival. He then convinces Veera to talk terms with Dev was killed by him unexpectedly. This incident made Veera more arrogant and trashed the police huts completely.

Veera releases Ragini to Dev after one on one fight between them. Climax of the movie is beautifully screen played by the Director and is a complete twist to the audience.
